So δαισθήσομαι on a Homeric-archaic verb is a post-Homeric tense morphologically grafted onto a pre-classical lexeme. A stricter register-purist would have reached for the future middle δαίσομαι in passive sense (the form Homer would have used). The cross-period grafting was a wilful editorial choice not pushed back on at the time; the candor is recorded now. Additionally, the future-passive-vs-future-middle distinction the form turns on is a grammarian’s tidying-up of usage that was never as tidy in the working language: classical authors (Demosthenes, Plato, the orators) routinely mix the two voices in the future.
